Fort Worth Community CU Announces Selection of New AVP of IT

Matthew Meyer has been named as Fort Worth Community Credit Union’s new AVP of information technology effective Aug. 5, 2019. The executive search was conducted by Credit Union Resources for the $957 million credit union, which is located in Fort Worth, Texas. 

Previously the vice president of information technology at Brightstar Credit Union in Sunrise, Fla., Meyer was responsible for leading the IT department’s staff members, managing all technologies, performing and preparing risk assessments, creating policies and procedures to ensure controls are in place, and maintaining high levels of compliance and familiarity with all regulations and standards. During his leadership at the credit union, he modernized member-facing technologies, encouraged the highest level of security certifications achieved by staff in company history, and introduced a new level of automation and efficiency with new and existing technologies.

Prior to Brightstar CU, Meyer was the vice president of information technology at Florida Credit Union in Gainesville, Fla. He oversaw the day-to-day operations of the department, focused on key infrastructure administration, provided mentoring and education to the entire organization, and negotiated contracts with vendors and business partners.

With more than 15 years of information technology experience within the credit union movement, Meyer will help Fort Worth Community Credit Union continue its mission to be the best choice for friendly, competitive, and secure financial services. He is recognized in the industry for guiding credit unions towards new innovations and technologies.

Meyer received an MBA with a concentration in data analytics and demographics from the University of Florida in Gainesville. He also has GIAC (GMOB) Mobile Device Security Analyst Certification and GIAC (GCFA) Forensic Analyst Certification.
