Corynn Rhodes earns Lending Professional of the Year

At this year's Southwest Lending Conference in New Orleans, May 22–24, Cornerstone's Credit Union Relations SVP Mike Delker presented the award for the 2019 Lending Professional of the Year to Energy Capital Credit Union's Senior Loan Consultant Corynn Rhodes.

“I am so honored to be selected for such a prestigious award,” said Rhodes. “Those that know me professionally know how hard I work to contribute to my department, members, and colleagues. I am so passionate about my work and dedicated to Energy Capital Credit Union’s success. I truly appreciate everyone who has been my mentor and helped me become the person I am professionally.“

Delker noted that Rhodes comes into the credit union with a happy, positive, and willing attitude that she wields to great effect, providing such top-notch service to members that she is frequently mentioned in myriad Google reviews.

"This year's honoree has engaged in multiple cross-selling training sessions and actively seeks ways to boost morale," Delker said. "She has capitalized on her organizational skill set and established systems to meet the credit union's lending goals. She created new tools for a very competitive sales team that include weekly goal boards for tracking sales and production. The visual representation of progress and accomplishments has motivated employees to work harder to achieve their goals, and her successful methodology was added to the credit union's 2019 strategic plan."

Rhodes also developed efficiency tools to ensure consistency and uniformity and created an internal help desk. Her planning and tracking resources have made a dramatic impact on the credit union's member relationships and improved public perception, all of which resulted in a significant increase in direct loans, referrals, and online reviews.

She also developed what she calls "the finalization process," which includes member follow-up with branded collateral materials, so the credit union is always visible to the member, top of mind, and easy to talk about in positive ways with friends.

In her credit union's nomination letter, they spoke of Rhodes' constancy, knowledge, skills, and passion for the work she does, which ensures she repeatedly meets or exceeds her individual goals. She has even won her credit union's internal "super sizer" award, which honors the loan consultant who's sold the most back-end products.
