During the award presentation, Cornerstone’s Past Chairman Kenny Harrington, president/CEO of MemberSource Credit Union, described Stanton as “as someone who is quick to offer her assistance to other small credit unions in the Cornerstone region and who serves a mentor for credit union employees.”

She has served on the Small Credit Union Committee as an Asset Category 1 Director, currently serves as the Region 5 –Arkansas - Asset Category One Director on the Cornerstone Board of Directors and has been the Chairman of the Children’s Miracle Network Credit Union for Kids Committee for Cornerstone since April 2017.

Stanton has pursued professional development opportunities, graduating from the Southwest CUNA Management School in 2006 and serving as Class Secretary. She is also a Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor.

Her relationship with credit unions began in 1979 when she stuffed statements at Kirtland Federal Credit Union in Albuquerque, New Mexico. And beginning in October 1989, she began her time with UP Arkansas Federal Credit Union in Little Rock, Arkansas as a teller and worked her way up to loan officer and then to vice president. She took over as CEO of the credit union in April 2005.

Cornerstone is thrilled to offer congratulations to this year's winner of the Small Credit Union Achiever's Award, Linda Stanton.
