Young Professional Advisors help Austin homeless during Annual Meeting

This year the Young Professional Advisors (YPAs) decided to give back to the Annual Meeting’s host city of Austin by collecting in-kind donations for Mobile Loaves & Fishes (MLF).
Mobile Loaves & Fishes has been working with the homeless population in the Austin area since 1998. They serve through three core programs:
- Community First! Village is a 51-acre master planned development that provides affordable, permanent housing and a supportive community for men and women coming out of chronic homelessness. At full capacity, Community First! Village will house nearly 500 formerly homeless individuals.
- Community Works provides micro-enterprise opportunities that enable those who have experienced homelessness to earn a dignified income. Micro-enterprise opportunities include gardening, art, blacksmithing, woodworking, and concessions.
- The Truck Ministry is a fleet of Mobile Loaves & Fishes food trucks hitting the streets of Austin seven nights a week, 365 days a year to provide food, clothing, and other life-sustaining items to homeless men and women who are struggling to survive.
The YPAs will be collecting in-kind donations while on-site at the Annual Meeting for the Truck Ministry. MLF needs new, travel-sized items, including:
- Socks
- Underwear
- Toothpaste, toothbrushes, floss, and mouthwash
- Razors
- Shaving cream
- Combs
- Shampoo
- Lotion
- Deodorant
- Lip balm
- Band-Aids and small first-aid kits
- Sunscreen
- Nail clippers
Any and all support for this cause will be greatly appreciated. Consider grabbing the unused toiletries from your hotel room or stopping at a nearby store.
