Before you can walk, you must learn how to crawl. And before you can pilot a lunar landing module, you have to learn how to fly a jet.
Harrison Schmitt did just that. After graduating Harvard with a degree in geology, Schmitt joined NASA’s astronaut corps, learned how to fly a jet, learned how to land a spacecraft on the moon, took three walks on the moon, and then returned to Earth where he became a U.S. Senator and an author.
Now 50 years after mankind first landed on the moon, Schmitt, who is the most recent human alive to have walked on the moon, will be a featured presenter during Catalyst Corporate’s annual Economic & Payments Forum, Sept. 30-Oct. 3 at the Omni Frisco Hotel in Frisco, Texas. Schmitt will share his unique perspective on achievement, human advancement, and what it’s like to drive NASA’s version of a go-cart on a dusty lunar surface some 240,000 miles from home.
The event, titled “The Future is Coming” will feature economists, financial industry thought leaders, and payments/technology experts who will provide actionable information credit unions can apply to their own institutions' operations.
Registration for Catalyst Corporate's Economic & Payments Forum will open in early April. Find event updates on the website at www.catalystcorp.org.
