Posted: Mar 18, 2019 | Author:

The Arkansas contingent of credit unions visited on Thursday with their lawmakers on Capitol Hill during the CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference in Washington, DC.

Arkansas Credit Union Association Executive Director Vicky Salkeld noted that about 12 credit union leaders held meetings with Sen. John Boozman, Sen. Tom Cotton, Rep. Bruce Westerman, and Rep. Rick Crawford, as well as the staff of Rep. French Hill.

"We discussed the credit union difference, data breach, and regulatory reform," Salkeld reported. "All of our lawmakers are very supportive of credit unions. It was a good opportunity to show our appreciation and thank them for their continued support."

Salkeld said they discussed the Bank Secrecy Act, in particular, with Hill's staff.
