Join expert attorney Christy Curtis Jones as she discusses COVID-19 issues related to collections, including some compliance issues during the Dec. 9 COVID and Collections webinar, hosted by the Compliance & Audit Council.

Jones will cover the basics of what the CARES Act requires and allows for modifications, deferrals, and skip-a-payment arrangements. She will also walk you through an effective collections’ mindset during times of crisis. Now more than ever, an effective collections agent will need to maintain the proper perspective, including managing stress, coping with sympathy fatigue, and dealing with feelings of being overwhelmed.

Topics include:

  • Whether to extend maturity
  • Repossessions and setoffs during COVID-19
  • Balancing care and concern for members with getting results
  • Revisiting the basics of a collections call (Hint: they still apply)
