America’s Credit Unions and the leagues have launched a nationwide grassroots campaign urging credit union leaders, staff, and members to contact their legislators to stress the importance of preserving the tax exemption. Your continued advocacy is vital to this effort.

Next Steps: 

• Send a message now: America’s Credit Unions’ Grassroots Action Center has pre-drafted messages you can personalize with impact stories from your credit union. 
• Leverage the Member Activation Program (MAP): If you’re not already enrolled, sign up today. MAP provides ready-to-use email templates, media pitches, op-eds, and letters to the editor to amplify our message. 
• Share DontTaxMyCreditUnion.org: This resource helps educate members and communities about the importance of protecting credit unions. 
• Run Project Zip Code: Ensure lawmakers see how many of their constituents are credit union members by running Project Zip Code at least annually. 

This week, the Cornerstone advocacy team remains actively engaged with House members, following up on recent Hill visits and rallying support for the bipartisan sign-on letter. Additionally, Cornerstone leaders are in close communication with Ways and Means Chairman Jason Smith (R-Mo.) to reinforce the critical role of the credit union tax exemption.
