Texas Trust Credit Union will soon call Skymark Tower, the landmark at 1531 North Cooper Street in Arlington, its corporate headquarters. The credit union purchased the building for $8.7 million and plans to move operations and employees into the 124,000-square-foot building later this year.
Texas Trust is one of the largest credit unions in North Texas, with nearly 140 employees working at its current location at I-20 and Little Road, a building it purchased in 2012. The credit union has 17 branches in the DFW area, along with branches in San Angelo and Athens.
Renovations to the Skymark Tower include significant building enhancements, lobby renovations, and exterior improvements. The iconic pyramid-shaped top of the building will be painted blue to reflect Texas Trust’s signature color.
Visibility, accessibility, and price were key factors in the decision. “The location is one of the reasons we love the site so much,” said Jim Minge, CEO of Texas Trust Credit Union. “The size of the existing building and the adjoining land give us ample room for future growth on one piece of property.”
Minge added, “This location will also elevate our visibility and further establish Texas Trust as a standout member of the Arlington community and local economy.”
With renovations beginning soon, Texas Trust plans for its first round of employees to move into the facility by mid-year.
