YP Spotlights

Read time: 1 min

The Cornerstone League Young Professionals group is dedicated to attracting, engaging, and empowering young talent in the Cornerstone region and positively impacting our communities. The Leaguer regularly features YP Spotlights to help you get to know these up-and-comers. This month, meet Tamra Day, Brenda Miranda, and April Mason.

Tamra Day

Tamra Day has been a financial service representative at Frontier CCU in Leavenworth, Kan., for nearly six years. She says her favorite part of working in the credit union industry is getting to work closely with members and building strong relationships.

Outside of work, Day is a fan of the movie “Clueless” and enjoys rewatching it regularly. One surprising fact about her? She doesn’t eat beef or pork.

If she could have any superpower, Day would choose the ability to fly so she could see beautiful places whenever she wanted. As for dessert, s’mores are her top choice—a treat that reminds her of simple, sweet moments.

Brenda Miranda

Brenda Miranda, compliance manager at Neighborhood Credit Union in Dallas, Texas, has spent 15 years in the credit union industry, where she’s thrived thanks to the support and mentorship she’s received throughout her career. She appreciates the professional development opportunities credit unions provide and the positive environment they foster for their teams.

Miranda looks up to her father, who taught her the value of punctuality, hard work, and commitment to quality. Her favorite travel destination is London, where she enjoyed seeing historic Gothic architecture and fulfilled her dream of attending a ballet at the Royal Opera House.

A dedicated supporter of the Humane Society of the United States, Miranda is passionate about their rescue efforts during natural disasters, particularly their work saving animals after hurricanes. When it comes to dessert, Miranda loves brownies with caramel.

April Mason

April Mason has been working in public relations and business development at First  Family Federal Credit Union in Henryetta, Okla., for just over a year, but her connection to credit unions goes back further—her mother opened her first account before she was born!

One of her favorite things about working at the credit union is the empowerment she feels to help members. Mason is a huge fan of “Barbie” for its blend of pink sparkle and smart feminist humor, and she enjoys binge-watching “Parks and Rec” with Leslie Knope as her idol.

One thing that surprises people about Mason is her involvement in Tulsa Oktoberfest, where she takes a week’s vacation every fall to volunteer as part of the leadership team. She’s also a lifelong member of Girl Scouts, an organization she credits with shaping her leadership skills and values.
