AMOCO Federal Credit Union, headquartered in Texas City, has announced Ashley Carner's promotion to president/chief operating officer, effective Jan. 1, 2025.

Ashley Carner, AMOCO

Carner will report directly to AMOCO CEO Shawn Bailey. She will manage all operational aspects of the accounting and finance, administration, operations, and technology divisions, enabling Bailey to focus primarily on advocacy, business development, collaborations, governance, and strategic planning.

“Ashley is an amazing leader and has played a critical role in AMOCO’s success throughout her career,” Bailey said. “More importantly, Ashley consistently demonstrates the principles of a servant leader and is completely committed to AMOCO’s mission and our members’ financial success. I am also proud to say that this critical leadership role is being filled internally by an individual who started on the front lines for AMOCO and now has become the second-highest ranking individual in the organization.”

Carner joined AMOCO in 2005 as a member service representative. She was promoted to VP of operations in 2010, EVP of operations in 2014, and COO in 2016. She holds a Bachelor of Science in business administration from Northwestern State University and a Master of Business Administration in finance and management from Tulane University – A.B. Freeman School of Business. She also received the Award of Excellence at Southwest CUNA Management School.

"I am honored to take on this new role for AMOCO and to continue working closely with Shawn, the leadership team, and staff to achieve our mission of serving the financial needs of our members," Carner said.

Carner is committed to the communities that AMOCO serves, as exemplified by her past and current engagement and service for Houston Methodist Women's Advisory Group, Association of Business and Professional Women, Santa Fe Economic Development Corporation, Higher Up Texas, SAVE Rescue, Independence Village, Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, and Clear Lake Chamber of Commerce.
