YP Advisors Making it Easier for Young CU Professionals to Connect
Tuesday, July 30, 2013 5:50 AM

The Young Professional (YP) Advisors, a young credit union professional initiative created by the Texas Credit Union League in 2012, has launched a web site,, which serves as a central repository of news and information for the young credit union professional.

The YP Advisors want to make it easy for young credit union professionals to connect with one another, as well as become more engaged in the movement.  Visitors to the site will learn how they can become more involved, including how to become a designated young credit union professional (YP) and a credit union young professional chapter delegate. The site also features a blog, forum, and photos of past young professional activities. Additionally, a calendar of events is also available on the site.

There are currently 31 credit unions involved in the Young Professionals initiative. Special thanks to:

Mike Delker, senior vice president of Credit Union Relations and Credit Union Strategic Development with the Cornerstone Credit Union League, says The YP Advisors worked alongside Cornerstone staff to develop the site. Delker says he’s impressed with the overall design and functionality of the web site, and applauds the commitment of The YP Advisors to keep this initiative moving forward.

“To prepare for leaders of tomorrow we must start now,” notes Randall Dixon, president/CEO of Energy Capitol CU. “With as many as 25 percent of CEOs retiring in the next five years and 50 percent in the next 10 years, we must develop active programs for our leaders of the future. We must teach our new leaders how to lead to achieve optimal organizational direction through dynamic strategic planning, Optimization of organizational understanding and design, Develop accountability throughout the organization (at the highest and lowest levels). These then will create the Organizational Culture we seek to achieve.”
