Young CU Professionals Encouraged to Participate in Local 'Meet Ups'
Monday, August 12, 2013 5:50 AM

The Cornerstone Credit Union League’s Young Professional (YP) Advisors, a select group of young credit union professionals, are hosting meet ups throughout, Arkansas, Oklahoma and Texas.

The official, unofficial, definition of a “meet up” is a local gathering of young credit union professionals.  These gatherings can take place morning, noon or evening, and can take on many forms, depending on the event goal.  Morning and noon meet ups may feature a speaker centered around a specific topic, while an evening meet up is usually more focused on networking and relaxing.

While the benefits of meet ups will vary from person to person and type of event, the overall vision is to promote a healthy support system and bonding that encourages long-term credit union growth and stability.  Meet ups allow for education opportunities, insight, and equal ground for all to share, discuss, and debate, regardless of employment classification.

Mark your calendars to attend a meet up near you:

  • Austin: Aug. 15, Sept. 19, Oct. 17, Nov. 21, Dec. 19
  • Dallas: Sept. 12
  • Little Rock, AR: Dec. 12
  • Oklahoma City: Nov.7
  • San Antonio: Oct. 10

Please visit the official YP website at to sign up as a YP in your credit union or a YP delegate for your chapter, to participate in the blog and forum, and to view updates to the meet up calendar.
