CU Ride

Immediately following the Leadership Conference and Expo this Saturday, Sept. 12, Cornerstone EVP Karen Hart will lead the first-ever CU Ride motorcycle event. You are all invited to participate!

The group of motorcyclists and car drivers will caravan from the Marriott Rivercenter to the Children's Hospital of San Antonio to deliver cuddly, stuffed Credit Unions Care dogs.

The Credit Unions Care campaign is all about raising money for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals and spreading the word about the credit union difference throughout the tri-state Cornerstone region. If every Cornerstone credit union contributed just $200, the league would surpass $100,000 to donate to CMN hospitals in your communities.

Phase One of the Credit Unions Care campaign was the kick-off phase where the paper donation dogs, T-shirts, and other promotional items were for sale with proceeds benefiting the CMN. Phase Two continues the fundraising for CMN with the CU Ride Motorcycle Tour and heightening awareness in the business sector. We want to let our credit union members and friends in commerce know how we can be their trusted financial partners. Phase Three is spreading the word even further, beyond the Cornerstone region.

During CU Ride, Hart will lead participants to ten cities on select days in September and October, delivering 1,500 stuffed Credit Unions Care dogs to the children living in those hospitals while they're undergoing treatment for serious health issues. After San Antonio, the next CU Rides will be in the cities of Fort Worth, Wichita Falls, Dallas, Temple, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Tyler, Houston, and Little Rock.

The Credit Unions Care campaign is emblematic of the credit union "people helping people" philosophy. We hope you will join Karen Hart on your motorcycle or in your vehicle as they do what credit unions do—make a difference in people's lives.
