Credit Unions CareCornerstone Credit Union League has announced the launch a new campaign, Credit Unions Care. Its purpose is to increase visibility and awareness of credit unions in the communities they serve by illustrating the many ways credit unions give back.

The campaign kicks off on June 15 and goes through August 31, 2015. Its goal is to ensure that people understand credit unions are not only financial partners, but community partners. In that spirit, Credit Unions Care will help differentiate credit unions from others in the for-profit financial services sector.

Watch a brief message from Cornerstone EVP/CFO Karen Hart.

One of the most notable ways credit unions give back is through their alliance with Credit Unions for Kids and the Children's Miracle Network. The Credit Unions Care campaign is a great opportunity to help credit union members and the community.

Cornerstone will be providing credit unions with paper Credit Unions Care donation dogs and asking that credit unions invite their members to donate. For every dollar donated, the donating individual can write his/her name on a dog, and the credit union can proudly display it for all to see, if they choose.

The benefits are:

  • All proceeds of the donation dogs benefit the Children's Miracle Network. CMN has, in turn, committed to donating 10 percent of funds raised to the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation.
  • Participants can join Cornerstone EVP/CFO Karen Hart and other credit union representatives on a CU Ride motorcycle trip to deliver more than 1,500 stuffed dogs to 10 CMN Hospitals in Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. (CU Ride schedules, as they become available, will be posted online, on Cornerstone’s social media pages, and in the Leaguer.)
  • Credit unions have the opportunity to engage their members and partner in contributing to a very deserving cause.
  • The community has the opportunity to understand that credit unions really are different and that "people helping people" is not only a philosophy, but the way credit unions do business.
  • Participating credit unions will be recognized in September at Cornerstone’s Leadership Conference.

Credit unions will find campaign marketing materials and forms online. For more information, go to the Credit Unions Care campaign site.
