WOCCU Offers International Training Opportunity
Tuesday, March 26, 2013 9:05 AM

Are you interested in growth strategies, non-traditional loan products, tactics to serve the underserved and the unbanked or international credit union development? If so, you may want to take advantage of an international training opportunity available through the World Council of Credit Unions (WOCCU).

Aug. 17-24, WOCCU will host an international training opportunity in Loja and Cuenca, Ecuador.  Participants will learn from credit unions that are balancing their social mission with a sound bottom line.  This international training provides a unique focus on credit unions at the forefront of small business and microenterprise lending in Ecuador, including:

  • Credit union visits to branch and retail offices.
  • Meetings with credit union members whose microenterprises are financed by credit union loans.
  • Rich cultural experiences throughout five cities.

Don't speak Spanish? No problem! Leading the program will be an international credit union development expert who will provide translation and insight into Ecuador's growing credit union industry.

Please keep in mind that space is limited.  Make sure to register yourself and a companion by May 15 to experience Ecuador's rich credit union tradition.

To learn more about the program agenda, costs and how to apply, please visit www.woccu.org/CustomizedInternationalTraining. If you have any questions, please contact Josh Fetting, at (608) 334-6646 or jfetting@woccu.org.
