Western Sun FCU Donates $7,500 to Children's Miracle Network
Tuesday, January 19, 2016 6:55 AM

Western Sun Federal Credit Union (WSFCU) donated a $7,500 check to the Children’s Miracle Network at the conclusion of its year-long fundraising efforts. Throughout the year, the credit union’s employees sold more than 15,000 individual candy bars and boxes of chocolates to reach their fundraising goal.

The dollars that WSFCU raises are earmarked specifically for things that the children need such as an incubator for the NICU department or Boo Boo bears for the children getting shots, on dialysis and other prickly treatments.

“The money is raised literally one dollar at a time selling chocolate by our incredible tellers and staff at all of our branches. I am so very proud of the dollar amount they raised this year,” said Dana Harris, vice president of marketing. “Our members leave snacking on a bar or buy them by the handful for their staff knowing their sweet treat is going to a great cause.”

Last year, over 70,000 children entered through the doors of the Children’s Hospital at Saint Francis due to a serious illness or injury.

WSFCU is a community chartered credit union with locations throughout Tulsa, Bixby, Broken Arrow, and Okmulgee.
