Are you new to accounting, or do you need a refresher on the basics? The Cornerstone Accounting and Finance Council is hosting a special webinar to provide insights, tips, and best practices for credit union accounting on Tuesday, Feb. 27, from 2 to 3 p.m. CT.

This is a complimentary webinar for members of the Accounting and Finance Council. Non-members can attend for only $25, which also includes a 2018 membership to the Accounting and Finance Council.

What you will explore:

  • Basic glossary of accounting terms;
  • Basic reconciliation;
  • Journal entries and accruals; and
  • Month-end best practices.

Michael ArmstrongYour Presenter: Michael Armstrong, SVP, Alcoa Community FCU
Michael Armstrong is a life-long resident of Arkansas and first entered the world of financial services his sophomore year at Arkansas State University in Jonesboro, Ark. After graduation, he held positions ranging from personal banker to vice president in large and smaller community banks in Central Arkansas. In addition to receiving his MBA in 2005 and a Master's in Education in 2011, Armstrong has attended a variety of leadership and management courses and is formally trained in commercial banking. In July 2015, Armstrong accepted a position at Alcoa Community FCU after striking up a friendship with CEO Steve Brown through Rotary.
