Webinar Date Change for You Get What You Plan For... Formulating Strategy That Brings Results
Thursday, October 12, 2017 6:25 AM

Hosted by: Accounting and Finance Council

Note the date change for this webinar. It's been moved to Wednesday, Nov. 8.

You’ve probably heard the old saying that those who fail to plan are planning to fail. While it would be a rare organization that does no planning, too often we fall into one of two camps: planning for the near term—essentially being reactive to current conditions; or writing a strategic plan and then putting the plan on the shelf and never enacting its provisions.

Join us for the webinar, You Get What You Plan For… Formulating Strategy That Will Bring Results, on Wednesday, Nov. 8, from 2–3 p.m. (CT). During this webinar, we’ll take a look at a third and better camp: the proactive, mid-to-long-range strategic planning camp.

Date: Wednesday, Nov. 8
Time: 2–3 p.m. CST

Strategic planning requires a deep and strong commitment from the credit union’s leadership, and it seeks ownership at every level of the organization. Why do it? Here are some of the most important reasons that we’ll discuss during this webinar:

  • To clarify the credit union’s mission, core values, and vision;
  • To address external uncertainties and changes that may affect the future of the credit union;
  • To develop the credit union’s strengths, challenges, opportunities, and threats;
  • To reaffirm that the credit union is headed where it wants to or should be going;
  • To assess, reassess, and adjust programs and services;
  • To build teamwork, communication, and expertise among board and staff; and most importantly,
  • To measure organizational effectiveness by incorporating evaluation and measurements into the ongoing process.

As the world of credit unions continues to become more and more complex with never-ending regulatory changes, interest-rate risk, cybersecurity threats, mobile banking and payments, and the continued decline in non-interest income, the importance of strategic planning has never been stronger.

This webinar is free to Accounting and Finance Council members. For non-members, the webinar is $25, which also includes remaining 2017 membership in the Accounting and Finance Council.
