US Secret Service Agent Teaches Cybersecurity at TFCU
Friday, April 15, 2016 6:55 AM

El Paso Area Teachers Federal Credit Union (TFCU) in El Paso, Texas, recently invited former Secret Service Agent Steven Bullitt to address cybersecurity vulnerability in credit unions. Rather than rely completely on internal trainers, TFCU said it chooses to leverage external expertise whenever possible to make learning more engaging, memorable, valuable, and fun for their all-staff training.

Bullitt had served for 20 years on the U.S. Secret Service, including presidential protection detail where he was responsible for conducting numerous lead security advances for Presidents Clinton and Bush over a five-year period in Latvia, Russia, Scotland, and Germany. In February, Solutionary appointed Bullitt to the position of vice president, cyber forensics and investigations, to lead threat-response and forensic initiatives.

Bullitt shared his experience overseeing cyber and criminal investigations and presented scenarios involving external hacks, insider abuse, and various real-world cases that can assist TFCU team members in maintaining their professional awareness in cybercrime prevention.

TFCU puts the highest level of priority and resources towards protecting member information and this training is an additional measure.
