Friday, June 27, 2014 6:40 AM

If you desire a better understanding of the asset/liability management process, you will not want to miss the Cornerstone Credit Union League’s popular Asset/Liability Management (ALM) Workshop being offered Aug. 5-6 in Oklahoma City; Aug. 12-13 in San Antonio, and Aug. 19-20 in El Paso.  Online registrations are now being accepted.

The workshop is divided into two parts: Essentials and Implementation. The Essentials session is offered on day one of the two-day program, and is designed for all credit union employees and board members. Understanding ALM Resources’ ABAJO Key Ratio Report, reviewing and calculating your credit union’s key financial ratios, and market pricing of loans and deposits are but a few of the program highlights for the ALM Essentials workshop.

The ALM Implementation Workshop is offered on day two, and is designed for all credit union employees and board members who desire an overview of understanding and implementing an effective ALM process. This session addresses among other things:

  • Organizing a successful ALM process
  • Developing an effective Investment and ALM Policy (guidelines)
  • Reviewing broker/dealer due diligence
  • Developing a consistent ALCO Agenda
  • Monitoring and measuring liquidity
