Upcoming Small Credit Union Workshops
Friday, October 3, 2014 6:45 AM

There are four upcoming Small Credit Union workshops on Oct. 7, 8, 14, and 15. Small Credit Union workshops are provided by Cornerstone Credit Union League through funding from the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation.

Topics for these workshops vary each year depending on what's going on in the economy and new regulations. One of this year's sessions will be taught by Howard Bufe, AVP of OnBalance, part of Credit Union Resources, Inc. Bufe will focus on how to strategically drive financial stability in your credit union.

Texas Credit Union Association's Political Grassroots Director April Mobley will lead a presentation on the CU:R.O.A.R (Ready, Organize, Activate, and Respond) program and explain how small credit unions can make a big impact in the political movement. Now, more than ever, it's important to make sure we let legislators know why credit unions are good for the American economy.

Compliance is a challenge in every credit union, but especially in smaller credit unions where the CEO is typically the one keeping up with the regulations. Steve Gibbs, Credit Union Resources, Inc., will provide an update on compliance and new regulations that will impact credit unions most.

Lorri Gaither and Kati Buchanan will end the day with a report on hot topics. This is a full-day workshop for small credit unions, $10 million and under, and is a benefit from your league.
