Upcoming Director's Symposium Offers Opportunity for CU Volunteers to Meet NCUA Board Financial Literacy Requirement
Tuesday, July 15, 2014 6:45 AM

The Cornerstone Credit Union League is offering a Director’s Symposium Sept. 3 in San Antonio, Texas. The one-day program is being held in conjunction with Cornerstone’s Leadership Conference & Expo, Sept. 4-6.

This must-attend symposium will provide volunteers with an opportunity to meet NCUA’s Board Financial Literacy requirement and earn their CUNA Board Financial Literacy Certificate.  The six modules required to obtain the certificate will be presented at the Sept. 3 event.

The modules required to earn your CUNA Board Financial Literacy Certificate include:

  1. V02, Financial Reports for Volunteers
  2. V03, Managing Risk for Volunteers
  3. V409, Financial Management
  4. V415, Asset-Liability Management for Directors
  5. V305, The Basics of Risk Assessment for Volunteers
  6. V428, Understanding Audit Reports

Please note that if you have already taken and passed any of the modules, you will only be required to attend and test on the ones you are still missing.  To check which modules you’ve already taken and passed, contact Cookie Dorsey, at for your records.  This program is designed to create a simplified approach to some rather complex subjects. It will provide you with a convenient, practical way to earn your CUNA Board Financial Literacy certificate.

Credit union volunteers who register by Aug. 25 for the Director’s Symposium are able to take advantage of the early bird registration rate of $299 per attendee. Attendees must register in advance for the Director’s Symposium. There will be no on-site registration for the event.
