Upcoming Conference Features Myriad of Educational Sessions about Successful Marketing
Thursday, March 14, 2013 4:45 AM

What’s your credit union to potential members without a strong brand?  During the Texas Credit Union League’s (TCUL) Texas Governmental Affairs Conference and Member Meeting & Expo April 2-5 in Austin, credit union employees in the marketing department have the option of attending any number of the 31 educational breakout sessions led by dynamic executive speakers and trainers from across the nation.

Credit union marketing employees may attend any of the breakout sessions and panels; however, if the choices seem overwhelming, they may find the following sessions and panels of particular interest:

  • The Power of the Mortgage Purchase Market - Rocking Your Brand: Wallace Jones of CU Members Mortgage will cover how to create unique, competitive advantages to your credit union’s mortgage marketing and branding techniques.
  • Stop Missing the Mark with Social Media: Michael Ogden, media relations manager of new media at CUNA Mutual Group, will take a look at how credit unions can use social media to build their brand and how to set themselves apart in the crowded social media world.
  • Marketing on a Shoe String – Panel: Moderator DeAndre Upshaw of Agency Entourage will lead a panel exploring ways to create strong, effective marketing campaigns with limited resources and little to no budget using low-cost techniques. Upshaw will also lead another panel, Creating Messages that Resonate, during which he and a team of experts will share insights into generating business and growing the credit union bottom line using a marketing message that members will hear.
  • Wake Up! Times Have Changed: Jason Boles, CEO of Fans Created, will prepare credit union leaders with strategies for not only keeping up, but thriving in a rapidly changing credit union environment.
  • How to Present Ideas to the C-Level Suite: Stacey Hanke, author of the book Yes You Can! Everything You Need From A to Z To Influence Others To Take Action, will discuss how to improve your communicative delivery, including how to persuade, sell your ideas, and effectively communicate a clear message.
