Upcoming Conference Explores ‘The Culture of Ethics’
Tuesday, April 2, 2013 6:25 AM

All organizations have a “code of ethics”, whether it is written as a formal document or just assumed to exist as a collection of shared values. But decisions that involve ethics that seem so obvious to one person may befuddle another, especially when observed behavior of the leadership isn’t always perceived as matching the lofty standards of the “code.”

How do you ensure that your code of ethics means the same thing to each and every one of your volunteers? Do you all really agree on what is “right” and what is “wrong”?  Barry Thompson of the Thompson Consulting Group, LLC, will answer these important questions and others at the Texas Credit Union League’s (TCUL) upcoming Compliance, Audit & HR Conference.

TCUL’s Compliance, Audit & HR Conference is scheduled for June 19-21 in Austin.  With the onslaught of new rules and regulations, keeping track and understanding how your credit union is being impacted can be a daunting task. This three-day conference is designed to empower attendees with the tools and information needed to broaden their knowledge, develop their skills and expand their network.

In his opening general session, “The Culture of Ethics,” Thompson will explore how your credit union’s code of ethics ultimately becomes a matter of organizational culture. He will also provide attendees with practical training techniques they can use to help ensure that their credit union consistently behaves in accordance with ethical standards.
