Monday, May 13, 2013 6:20 AM

Four high school seniors recently caught a lucky break from their local credit union.

San Antonio-based UNITED SA Federal Credit Union awarded a total of $2,000 in scholarships to the four students, who, along with their parents, were recognized at a May 7 reception at the credit union’s headquarters.

The scholarship winners are:

  • Tatiana Bujnoch from Boerne High School
  • Kevin Coleman from Johnson High School
  • Jared Garza from Harlandale High School; and
  • Elizabeth Godfrey from Health Careers High School.

“These young people are outstanding scholars and very well-rounded high achievers,” said Steve Coomes, UNITED SA president and CEO. “They have all excelled throughout their academic careers, and we are proud to be able to assist them with their college pursuits.” Coomes presented the students with their awards.

This is the seventh year that UNITED SA has offered a scholarship program. Students are chosen based on academics, leadership, community service and personal recommendations.
