UFCU Names New VP of Community Impact and Biz Development

Heather McKissick

University Federal Credit Union, Austin's largest locally owned financial institution, announced that Heather McKissick will assume the role of vice president of community impact and business development.

In this newly created role, McKissick will be responsible for leading the credit union’s strategic relationship development with the higher education, healthcare, and not-for-profit sectors, as well as within the business community at large. She will focus on strengthening the UFCU brand and establishing collaborative opportunities for positive community impact.

McKissick believes strongly in community service and applies her passion and experience to a wide array of causes. Her focus on community has been recognized by many in the community. She has received the esteemed Girl Scouts of Central Texas Women of Distinction designation, an Austin Business Journal Profiles in Power award, and the inaugural Austin Under 40 Mentor of the Year title.

McKissick also chairs the Advisory Council for the Austin Young Chamber of Commerce and serves as an Advisory Board member for the Young Women’s Alliance. She has served as vice president of human resources and organizational development at UFCU since 2013.

"I am very excited to serve Central Texas and UFCU in this new capacity,” says McKissick.

McKissick’s experience over the past four years at UFCU, along with her previous experience as CEO of Leadership Austin and her extensive relationships throughout the community, make her an excellent fit for this new position. She shifted into the new role Feb. 1, 2017.
