Top Three Reasons for Attending Cornerstone Bankruptcy & Collections Seminars
Thursday, January 23, 2014 6:40 AM

The Cornerstone Credit Union League’s popular Bankruptcy and Collections seminars are less than three weeks away, and if you are questioning whether or not you should take advantage of this educational opportunity, perhaps you should instead ask yourself, “Why wouldn’t I attend?”

The Bankruptcy seminar is being offered Feb. 11 and the Collections seminar is being offered the following day. Both seminars will be held in Dallas, at Cornerstone headquarters. Here are just three reasons for attending these seminars:

  • The opportunity to hear from well-known and highly respected attorneys Charles Williams and Mike Blalack of Blalack & Williams
  • Learn practical and proactive strategies to help them maximize recovery and minimize loss and risk
  • Get the most current information on bankruptcy and collections regulations

The Bankruptcy seminar focuses on bankruptcy essentials for the new credit union bankruptcy officer, as well as current and emerging problems for credit unions in the bankruptcy courts. Automatic stay issues, payroll deductions, credit reporting, and other unintentional violations also be covered.

Collectors of all experience levels will benefit from the Collections seminar, which takes a practical new look at the legal issues surrounding credit union repossessions. This seminar will cover all of the key legal issues impacting delinquent vehicle loans, repossessions and the disposition of collateral.
