Tonight's the Night! CUs Needed to Tweet Presidential Candidates
Tuesday, November 10, 2015 7:00 AM

As we mentioned last Friday, Credit Union National Association launched its next phase of the Member Activation Program (MAP), "Strong Credit Unions. Strong Middle Class," to further educate consumers about the benefits of membership and convey that stronger credit unions mean a stronger middle class. Tonight, the MAP campaign is on target to share this message with the presidential candidates as they formulate their economic policies.

If you haven’t seen the website featuring all the candidates yet, you can check it out at While you have the option to sign a petition or tweet the candidate/candidates of your choice, we want to increase the number of tweets.

Let's kick things into high gear!

Today, Tuesday, Nov. 10, the Republican candidates are scheduled to hold another debate in Milwaukee. That day, CUNA will be kicking off the social media portion of their Strong Middle Class advocacy campaign. We are asking credit union communicators and opinion leaders to tweet about it to your followers so we can get the media and candidates to pay attention. We want the presidential candidates and political leaders across our nation to remember that credit union members and our concerns are critical in 2016.

Here are some sample tweets:

  • #Creditunions support the middle class. Visit #CUvote16 #GOPdebate
  • #CreditUnions are best for the middle class. Let the candidates hear your voice for the #GOPdebate. Visit #CUvote16
  • #CreditUnions help local communities & the middle class. What is the candidates' economic plan? #CUVote16 #GOPdebate
  • #CreditUnions make middle class America strong. How will the candidates help the middle class? #CUVote16 # GOPdebate
  • Strong #CreditUnions=Strong middle class. How will the candidates support the middle class? #CUVote16 #GOPdebate

With your help, we can make it clear to political leaders in both parties that a strong middle class depends on strong credit unions. Please help us spread the word on our first Debate Day today.
