Tinker FCU Financial Educator Joins Junior Achievement Board
Tuesday, December 13, 2016 6:50 AM

Giovanni Monterroso, financial educator for Tinker Federal Credit Union (TFCU) in Oklahoma City, has become a member of the Junior Achievement (JA) board.

JA is an organization that provides education to grades K-12 on entrepreneurship, career readiness, and financial literacy. The board helps promote and support the work of JA in the Oklahoma Central Region.

Monterroso is a long-time volunteer with JA, since 2012, and recently received the Crystal Apple award for reaching more than 750 students through the program. So far, Monterroso has taught more than 800 students from grades K-12.

“Volunteering for Junior Achievement has been a rewarding experience,” Monterroso said. “My hope is to help JA continue its work in the Oklahoma City area, reaching more students and helping recruit new volunteers for the classroom.”

Tinker Federal Credit Union is the largest credit union in Oklahoma, with $3.5 billion in assets and over 332,000 members.
