The Greater Oklahoma City Hispanic Chamber of Commerce presented Tinker Federal Credit Union employee Edgar Medina with the Latino Leadership Oklahoma City Class III award at their Business After Hours event held July 28.

Medina received the award after completing the leadership class, which was conducted March – July of 2016. The class, which is in its third year, was created with the objective of developing community leaders who are able to impact the Hispanic community on a high level. Class participants develop leadership skills and enhance their ability to sit on a board of directors for various companies and non-profits throughout the city or state, as well as to become highly engaged in community philanthropy.

“I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity presented to be a part of such a wonderful class,” Medina said. “The learning experience I took part in has certainly impacted my development as a leader and servant for this community.”

Before receiving the award, Medina was also promoted to the position of assistant vice president and branch manager of the TFCU Capitol Hill branch, which is where the Business After Hours event took place. There, Medina has the opportunity to expand the branch’s financial education efforts to the Hispanic/Latino community in the Capitol Hill area.

Tinker Federal Credit Union is the largest credit union in Oklahoma, with $3.5 billion in assets and more than 332,000 members. For more information, please visit
