The Power of Storytelling to Promote Your CU Featured at Southwest Lending Conference
Wednesday, May 6, 2015 6:30 AM

Dave Lieber

There's still time to register for the Southwest Lending Conference, which will be held May 18–20 at the Hilton Dallas Southlake Town Square. This jam-packed conference features the most current news and information on lending, including best practice panels, and plenty of opportunities for networking.

When you arrive on Sunday, May 17, you'll be welcomed at a special cocktail party from 5–6 p.m., where you can relax from your travels and network with your colleagues. This party is sponsored by CU Members Mortgage.

You won't want to miss the general session "The Power of Perfect Storytelling to Promote Your Credit Union Business" with Dave Lieber, Dallas Morning News “The Watchdog” Column.

As one of America’s top storytelling experts, Dave will happily show you how to ditch the PowerPoint and kill the slides because the power of your own stories can make you and your credit unions most exceptional. Nothing brings out emotion and passion faster with our audiences than our best stories, told well and for the right reasons. When Dave is done, you’ll be able to use his easy techniques right away.

Topics include:

  • Get your audience to give full concentration.
  • Understand how to bring emotion and passion to make your business memorable.
  • Learn sophisticated story writing techniques that work exceptionally well in sales presentations.

For nearly 30 years, Dave Lieber, humorist, storyteller, and award-winning columnist, has used stories to change the world. Nothing motivates people more, Dave believes, than stories about positive change that help people change positively.

Dave is The Watchdog columnist for The Dallas Morning News. His stories of wrongdoing and right-doing in newspapers and magazines have led to countless changes in governments, schools, and communities. In his newest project, Dave is leader of Watchdog Nation, a consumer rights movement spreading across America. His book, Dave Lieber's Watchdog Nation, won two national book awards for social change in 2009 and was named one of the top 10 consumer books of the year.

The winner of the coveted Will Rogers Humanitarian Award from the National Society of Newspaper Columnists for his good deeds in the community, Dave was named Best Columnist in the American Southwest by the Press Club of Dallas.
