Texoma Community Credit Union, a $120 million credit union, chose Credit Union Resources to conduct an intense national search for a new president/CEO. As a result, John Buckley was selected for the position, effective Monday, Jan. 2, 2017.

Buckley succeeds Wayne Mansur, who is retiring from Texoma Community after 22 years. Mansur’s career in the Credit Union Movement began in 1982 at GECU in El Paso, Texas, where he became a tireless advocate for credit unions. He frequently met with state and national legislators to share the credit union difference, and he takes great pride in every aspect of Texoma Community.

With more than 30 years of management experience in the credit union industry, Buckley will help Texoma Community continue its mission to improve the lives of its membership by providing quality products and exceptional service. Buckley is recognized in the industry for managing high growth, driving results, and leading successful teams.

Previously, Buckley was the chief operations officer at Texoma Community, responsible for the direct supervision of tellers, member services, marketing, business development, and information technology. Prior to his association with Texoma Community, Buckley was the president/CEO at Postel Family Credit Union where he managed 30 employees in all aspects of a full-service, two-branch credit union. Buckley grew Postel Family from $7.5 million to almost $70 million in assets and completed two separate mergers while CEO.

Buckley holds a BBA in finance with a minor in accounting from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls, Texas. He also attended the Southwest CUNA Management School and is an Honor Graduate from the University of North Texas – Denton. Buckley is very active in the community and has held many positions on boards. He is a past president of the Wichita Falls Chapter of Credit Unions, chairman of the CU for Kids CMN golf tournament, and board member of the Boys and Girls Club of Wichita Falls.
