Texas Statute Changes Take Effect in 2014; Upcoming Compliance Review Seminar Addresses These Changes
Tuesday, October 15, 2013 6:30 AM

In 2014, a number of Texas statute changes – some more significant than others – will take effect. Credit unions will need to be abreast of these changes. The Cornerstone Credit Union League is offering a Compliance Review Seminar Nov. 6, at the League’s headquarters in Farmers Branch, Texas. Featuring Deborah Crawford, the one-day program focuses on Texas share accounts; specifically documentation and compliance, as well as a regulatory update on Texas accounts.

If you open and document accounts in Texas, Crawford says you don’t want to miss this seminar, which offers an “A to Z” on all the Texas law, documentation requirements plus the federal Bank Secrecy requirements to open accounts.  Among other things, Crawford will address:

  • The ins and outs of account cards and account agreements
  • How to create accounts WROS and WOROS
  • POD accounts at death
  • Handling POA documents
  • Minor accounts: UTMA and multiple party accounts
  • Estate accounts
  • Revocable and irrevocable trust accounts
  • And much more

Attendees are asked to bring a copy of their account card and account agreement, as many issues are addressed in your card during the program.
