Texas Senate Committee Hears Tax Lien Lender Bill
Wednesday, May 17, 2017 7:00 AM

House Bill 2832 by Rep. René Oliveira (D-Brownsville) was heard in the Senate Business and Commerce Committee. This bill requires a property owner to give 10 days’ notice to the mortgage servicer before entering into a contract with a property tax lender, providing the primary lender time to pay the taxes on behalf of the borrower or finding an alternative that protects the lender's priority position.

Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville) is the Senate sponsor of the bill.
