On Thursday, Nov. 20, Texas Partners Federal Credit Union hosted a release party and private screening of the movie Mockingjay—Part 1, the third film in the popular Hunger Games series.

The credit union extended invitations to their "Be Smart" checking account holders between the ages of 16 and 18, and each was able to bring a guest. The evening included a walk down the red carpet, “paparazzi” snapping pics of the attendees, swag, concessions, and a drawing for a Kindle Fire HD7.

“This was a really fun event," said Shelley Carlson, vice president of marketing. "We had the opportunity to thank our members and get to know them better. We chatted about our scholarship program and some of the other perks of membership. And then we got to treat them to the movie the night before it was actually released."

Carlson adds, “We tapped into our social media channels with a live Twitter feed that was projected onto the screen during the release party and posted the red carpet photos on our Facebook page.”

Texas Partners reported that attendance for the event was excellent. The rented theater’s capacity was 93, and at 8:15 p.m. when the lights dimmed and the trailers rolled, only a few vacant seats remained.
