Texas House Concurs on Senate Amendments to Possessory Lienholder Sales Bill
Monday, June 1, 2015 7:00 AM

The Texas House passed HB 2076 on Friday afternoon by a vote of 141 to 1.  The bill, by Rep. René Oliveira (D-Brownsville) and Sen. Robert Nichols (R-Jacksonville), provides a more effective and secure notification process before a possessory lienholder could sell a motor vehicle, motorboat, vessel, or outboard motor. This bill will greatly improve the protections for purchase money lienholders.

For further detail on the bill and changes made in the Senate, see the Leaguer article published May 28 here. The bill now goes to the governor.
