Texans Vote

This is a big election year in Texas. Early voting is now underway, leading up to the primary election on March 4. Early voting runs from Feb. 18-28.

Significant Texas contests hang in the balance—both state and federal—so it's vital that everyone gets to the polls at their earliest opportunity. Races include attorney general, lieutenant governor, governor, judicial, state legislature, and congressional seats.

Don't forget, voter ID is now required to vote at the polls. To find out if you're registered to vote, who and what measures are on the ballot, and other important election news, visit the Texas Secretary of State's site at

Important dates to remember:

  • Feb. 18-28: Early voting for Primary Election
  • March 4: Primary Election
  • May 19-23: Early Voting for Primary Runoff Election
  • May 27: Primary Runoff Election
  • Primary Runoff Election
