TCUL Offers Fair Lending Seminar April 17 in Austin
Wednesday, March 20, 2013 4:35 AM

Trying to keep up with or understand all the changes taking place in the world of compliance can be challenging to say the least.  Sometimes we just need to get back to the basics. The Texas Credit Union League (TCUL) is offering credit unions the opportunity to refresh themselves with the Fair Lending rules and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) changes affecting these rules with its upcoming Fair Lending seminar.

This seminar is being offered April 17 in Austin, and A+ FCU will host the event.  The seminar explains the “why” of fair lending and the laws and regulations influencing the treatment of customers, including the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA and Reg. B), Fair Housing Act, Community Reinvestment Act (CRA and Reg. BB), Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA and Reg. C) and the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA and Reg. V).

Fair lending is going through some major revisions thanks to the watchful eye of our friends at the CFPB. This session featuring Pierre Cardenas presents these changes and more, along with practical discussions on industry and internal process impacts.
