Texas Credit Union Foundation Executive Director Courtney Moran is one of 12 credit union professionals to have recently earned the prestigious International Credit Union Development Educator (I-CUDE) designation. This fifth class of I-CUDEs will be recognized at the 2013 World Credit Union Conference in Ottawa, Canada on July 17th.

“I’m honored to have received this designation and to be among an impressive list DE and I-CUDE professionals who are committed to the growth and prosperity of our movement,” said Moran. “I am thankful that my service at the foundation has provided me with this opportunity to be more engaged in our international movement.”

Because of Catalyst Corporate FCU’s partnership with the Belize Credit Union League, Moran says she had the opportunity to collaborate with the league in Belize. Moran shared her expertise in the area of financial education with credit union professionals and educators in Belize.

Also holding the I-CUDE designation are Texas Credit Union League President and CEO Dick Ensweiler; Mike Delker, senior vice president of credit union relations, and Linda Webb-Mañon, vice president of communications and PR.

The Development Education Program is designed to encourage an international exchange of ideas and opportunities around credit union philosophy. In an effort to encourage trained development educators to learn from their international peers and to learn from international travel opportunities, the seven international CUDE Programs offer their Development Educators the opportunity to achieve an I-CUDE Designation.

To achieve the distinction of an International DE, Development Educators must complete the following:

  1. Complete their local DE Program;
  2. Complete an independent studies project appropriate to the learning objectives of the DE Program;
  3. Participate in an international program, conference or training opportunity.  This may include but is not limited to: an international DE program, an international immersion program, or completing an international volunteer assignment; and
  4. Attend WOCCU's World Credit Union Conference or a Regional Confederation Conference.
