TCCU Hosts Lunch N’ Learn for Financial Literacy Month
Thursday, May 5, 2016 6:50 AM

On April 18, Tarrant County’s Credit Union hosted a free Lunch N’ Learn workshop in honor of Financial Literacy Month in an effort to spur interest in financial literacy in an engaging environment.

Galli Davis, lending and sales training specialist for ASG Results in Conroe, Texas, was the speaker with the topic of “Good Credit Fitness.” Davis has 17 years in lending and sales experience in the credit union industry and has spoken at conferences and credit unions across the southwest. Davis provided attendees with insight on what creates a credit score, what negatively impacts a credit score, and how to improve a score in a short amount of time. She also provides tips for good credit fitness.

“Understanding how credit works is the fastest way to improve your score helping you to qualify for better interest rates and saving money when getting loans," said Davis.

“The feedback we received from attendees of the Good Credit Fitness Lunch N’ Learn event further supports our belief that financial education is important, and we look forward to offering more financial-based workshops in the future,” said CEO Lily Newfarmer.

TCCU encouraged engagement by offering attendees the opportunity to live-tweet with the credit union during the event. This platform provided the opportunity to pose questions to the speaker and the credit union staff through a live social media platform.

TCCU is an $80 million credit union serving more than 10,000 members throughout Tarrant County, Texas. TCCU operates four branches in Fort Worth, Hurst, Lake Worth, and Arlington. For more information and to learn more about TCCU free financial workshops contact Andrea Spencer at or visit
