T3 Roundtables (Train the Trainer)
T3 Roundtables

T3 is a Train the Trainer pre-conference workshop held the day prior to Leadership Conference. This full-day event will feature top trainers from Cornerstone credit unions to help foster the motto of People Helping People. Topics will feature educational topics such as: Presenting with Confidence, Creating a Training Calendar, Understanding Adult Learning Styles, Training Best Practices, as well as Roundtable discussions to share ideas.

Trainers

Marsha Needham, Training Director, MemberSource Credit Union

Marsha NeedhamMarsha is the Training Director at MemberSource Credit Union, where she created, implemented and oversees all training at the Credit Union.  During her 10-year tenure, she created several effective programs, to include a standard new hire orientation program, the 30-60-90 day Follow-up Program, Management Coaching Program, P.R.I.M.E Employee Program, KnowlegeBytes, PKSource Session, Credit Union Service Standards and the Credit Union University. 

She is one of five on the service committee responsible for hiring manager level employees. She also coordinates the Houston Credit Union Trainers Roundtable in Houston.

In 2013, Marsha won an award at CUNA’s Experience Learning Live for the use of the A.D.D.I.E. Model, which showed a direct link to positive bottom line at MemberSource Credit Union. 

Marsha has a 16-year son and loves to travel and experience different cultures.

Brent Rempe, Director of Education at WEOKIE Credit Union

Brent RempeBrent Rempe is the Director of Education at WEOKIE Credit Union in Oklahoma City. He manages both employee training and financial literary outreach to K-12 schools. Rempe holds an M.A. in Organizational Dynamics from the University of Oklahoma and an M.A. in Economics and Entrepreneurship for Educators from the University of Delaware, and is currently pursuing his Ph.D. in Education with an emphasis in Workplace Learning and Development from the University of Oklahoma. Rempe earned a Credit Union Development Educator designation and serves as the incoming chair for the Board of Directors at the Oklahoma Council on Economic Education, an Advisory Trustee for the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation, an Advisory Director of the WEOKIE Credit Union Foundation, serves on the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City-Oklahoma City Branch’s Economic Education Advisory Council, and is Vice President of Programming for the Central Oklahoma Chapter of ATD.  Brent is married to Beth, a lovely high school math teacher, and they two furry children and a plethora of turtles.

Chris Henkel, VP of Professional Development, Tinker Federal Credit Union

Chris HenkelChris Henkel is the VP of Professional Development for Tinker Federal Credit Union.   She oversees a department of 6 (soon to be 7) full-time staff including an Assistant Manager, Reneé Jones.  The primary scope of Professional Development at TFCU is:

  • Technical job training for most TFCU positions as well as management  and leadership training for new and existing managers and supervisors; 
  • Service and sales training for front line and support department employees and management;
  • Employee recognition programs for service and performance;
  • Service surveys for members and employees;
  • Employee communication about job resources and procedures, credit union events, benefits, training and news through our employee portal or “intranet.”

Chris holds a Master’s degree in Adult Education from Kansas State University.  She has over 35 years’ experience in the training and development field in a variety of industries but has been with Tinker Federal Credit Union as the VP / Manager of Professional Development since January of 2002. 

Dena Irwin, Training Manager, Energy Capital Credit Union

Dena IrwinDena Irwin is the Training Manager at Energy Capital Credit Union for almost 5 years. Before coming to the credit union Dena worked exclusively at banks. How different can the two worlds be? She quickly learned that it is like night and day difference. Irwin states “Credit Unions helping each other has been my biggest take-away”. Dena manages the training department from new hires, to compliance, to even management/ leadership trainings. “I love being able to make my own presentations and also love being one of the first point of contacts for all new hires” states Irwin.
