South Texas Area Resources Credit Union (STAR CU) celebrated the grand opening of their new branch with a special ribbon cutting on Feb. 3. The new branch is located at 6009 Holly Road in Corpus Christi, Texas.

The credit union celebrated the event by inviting a variety of local guests and serving pastries, cookies, and coffee. They also held drawings for door prizes, Wednesday through Friday of the same week, and had various give-away items.

“We partnered with local vendors in the area surrounding the new branch for door prizes to help promote their businesses as well,” said STAR CEO Christina Reyna.

The event was attended by the credit union’s board of directors, employees, local members, the Corpus Christi Chamber of Commerce, and other local credit union leaders. Special guest attendees included Texas Rep. Todd Hunter (R-District 32) and Corpus Christi City Council Member Rudy Garza, Jr.

The new branch has four drive-thru lanes and one drive-thru ATM. Five credit union employees—a loan officer, a member service officer, and three tellers—will serve members at the credit union. CEO Christina Reyna will office there part of the time as well.

“We are very excited to open our new branch and look forward to developing new partnerships with the surrounding community,” Reyna said.
