SSFCU Announces Staff Promotions

Security Service FCU (SSFCU) is pleased to announce the promotion of Norma Salazar to assistant vice president of quality and delivery management. In her new position, she will be responsible for all aspects of the credit union’s software application change management, release management, quality assurance and project delivery across multiple business areas. Since joining SSFCU in 2006 as a quality assurance analyst, Salazar has held other positions with increased responsibility, most recently serving as the manager of quality and delivery. Prior to joining the credit union, Salazar spent more than 10 years employed with IBC Bank.

Julie Balboa has been promoted to vice president, member service for South Texas. In her new position, she will be responsible for overseeing member service operations, promoting community involvement and business development in the Coastal Bend and Rio Grande Valley areas. Balboa joined SSFCU in 1995 as a part-time teller associate at the Uvalde Branch and has since held positions of increased responsibility, most recently serving as the assistant vice president of the South Texas district.

Balboa has held past board positions with the Uvalde Chamber of Commerce and represented SSFCU on several local advisory committees.  Most recently, she is a 2011 graduate of Leadership Corpus Christi, is a current member of the Hispanic Women’s Network in the Coastal Bend and a member of the International Women’s Board in the Rio Grande Valley.

Kelly Pils has been promoted to support desk manager. In her new position, she will be responsible for the overall management of the credit union's enterprise support desk operations in Network Services. Pils joined SSFCU in 2004 as a network specialist and has some 11 years of experience working in network services and support desk operations. In addition to her work experience, Pils is actively involved in the SSFCU Volunteer Corps program and regularly volunteers at the Magdalena House for mothers and children.
