Sessions & Speakers

Collections: Not Sure What Happened? Was a Good Loan When I Made It!

“Debts are like children: the smaller they are the more noise they make.” – Spanish Proverb

As Credit Union professionals, we hope our borrowers will repay us. However, loans can experience payment disruptions. When routine payment disruptions occur, we take off our lending cap and put on our collections combat helmet!

Collection efforts begin before we accept a loan application. Together, we will learn how to use the past, present, and future to establish sound credit union collection policies, procedures, and best practices.

The session will not be a broad overview of collection practices. We will roll up our sleeves and dive right into building a strong small credit union collection department (with policies, procedures, and do’s and don’ts) while keeping true to our core Credit Union philosophy.
