Shared Branching: The Value of Convenience
Friday, June 30, 2017 6:40 AM

Norma Garza, VP Remote Transaction Resources, Credit Union Resources

Picture your life without your “a-ha” conveniences. Those are the conveniences that allow us to go through life without worrying about the details.

For instance, I consistently strive to use the same rental car company because they do the one thing that all other rental companies don’t: they pick me up and drop me off at my house. They go above and beyond. I have no worries about having a friend or family member go out of their way to do it or tracking those costly daily parking fees. Not me!

I visited with Morgan, the representative for my last pick-up, and as the conversation went to credit unions, she happened to mention how much she loves her credit union. She proceeded to share her concern about having to move her account when she moved from Houston to Austin, and she shared her a-ha moment. She was pleasantly surprised when she learned she was not going to have to close her account because of “Shared Branching.” Moreover, she happily added that she was/is so grateful to her credit union for that unique phenomenon and convenience.

What if your members could take their credit unions with them wherever they go?
