Shamrock FCU Names 2017 Scholarship Winners
Thursday, April 27, 2017 6:45 AM

A five-member scholarship committee for Shamrock Federal Credit Union judged 30 applicants on the bases of length of credit union membership, number of credit union services utilized, academic achievement, leadership, and character and as a result awarded 11 scholarships worth $12,500.

The scholarship recipients will be attending schools throughout Texas and Oklahoma. Over the past 18 years Shamrock FCU has awarded scholarships to credit union members pursuing a post-secondary education. The board of directors believes this is a positive way to inspire and reward the hard work and dedication of student members.

Shamrock FCU is a $50 million not for profit financial cooperative serving approximately 8,000 members in 40 states and several foreign countries.

Credit union members are eligible to apply for a scholarship if they are full-time students pursuing an education at a university, college, junior college, or trade or vocational school.  Each application is scored anonymously based on the predetermined criteria.
