Senate Banking Committee to hear from NCUA nominees Feb. 14
Friday, February 8, 2019 6:30 AM

The Committee on Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs will meet in open session next week to conduct a hearing on the nominations of Todd M. Harper and Rodney Hood to become members of the National Credit Union Administration Board.

The hearing will be webcast live, Feb. 14 at 10 a.m. (ET).

Hood was re-nominated by President Donald Trump in January after not receiving a hearing in the last Congress, and Harper was nominated in early February. He previously served as vice chair of the NCUA board under President George W. Bush, serving on the board from October 2005 to August 2010. He was nominated to take the board seat currently held by board member Rick Metsger. His term would end in August 2023.

Harper served as the director of public and congressional affairs and as the chief policy advisor to the chairman at NCUA until 2017. Prior to serving at the NCUA, Harper served 14 years on Capitol Hill as a senior aide to Rep. Paul E. Kanjorski (D-Pa.). Harper’s nomination is for the seat left open by former Chair Debbie Matz. His term would expire in April 2021.
