Results of Special Election in San Antonio
Wednesday, April 1, 2015 6:55 AM

The special election held yesterday to fill the seat in District 124, left vacant when former Rep. José Menéndez was elected to the Senate, is now headed to a runoff.

Former San Antonio City Council member Delicia Herrera, attorney Ina Minjarez, firefighter Nathan Alonzo, and insurance agent David Rosa (who ran as a Republican against U.S. Rep. Joaquin Castro in 2012) were vying to represent the district that sits on the far west side of San Antonio. No one received a majority, so Minjarez, with 42 percent of the vote, and Herrera, with 28 percent, will face each other in a runoff.

The date for the runoff will be set by Gov. Abbott later this month.
