Resource One: FREE Document Shredding Events in Dallas, Houston

Resource One Credit Union will hold FREE document shredding events during the months of March and April.

Each year, Resource One Credit Union hosts their annual Document Shredding events that help people protect themselves against identity theft by destroying documents containing sensitive information. Resource One Credit Union announced their annual Document Shredding Events will be held March through April 2017 and will include refreshments, prizes, giveaways, and free document shredding.

In addition, Resource One Credit Union will be encouraging everyone participating in the shred events to donate a new stuffed animal which will support the CU Ride, a Credit Unions Care cause. All of the stuffed animal donations will be delivered to children at local hospitals during the annual CU Ride events.

Document shredding events will be held the following dates:

March 4, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.:
Spring Cypress – 22560 Tomball Pkwy, #100, Houston, TX 77070
Oak Forest – 1400 W. 43rd St, Houston, TX 77018
Jones Rd – 9211 Jones Rd, Houston, TX 77065

March 25, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.:
Cedar Hill – 755 N. Hwy 67, Cedar Hill, TX 75104
North Garland – 2475 Arapaho Rd, Garland, TX 75044

April 1, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.:
Carrollton – 2501 E. Hebron Pkwy, #300, Carrollton, TX 75010
Mesquite – 2750 N. Galloway, Mesquite, TX 75150

April 8, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.:
Garland – 302 W. Centerville Rd, Garland, TX 75041
Irving – 2315 W. Airport Fwy, #161, Irving, TX 75062

April 29, 2017 from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.:
East Dallas – 8344 E. R.L. Thornton Fwy, #110, Dallas, TX 75228

The shred events are open to the public. There is a maximum 15 box limit per vehicle. Only paper documents are allowed. Acceptable items to shred include:

  • Bank statements
  • Forms (medical, insurance, tax, other)
  • Receipts
  • Personal files
  • Old checkbooks and checks
  • Junk mail

The documents will be disposed of onsite by Shred It, a division of Stericycle. Shred It holds a certification for document destruction from the National Association for Information Destruction.
